Creating the roadmap to Suwanee 2030
The City of Suwanee along with approximately 100 community members and planning consultants has been working to create a community vision and town master plan for Suwanee 2030. The process is nearly complete and a draft of the 2030 Comprehensive Plan/Community Agenda is available online.
The comprehensive planning process began May 3, 2007 with a public kick-off meeting. The City of Suwanee has worked with planning consultants Urban Collage and Coyne Planning to create the master plan.
The comprehensive planning process answers three questions:
- Where are we today?
- Where do we want to go?
- How do we get there?

What’s been done so far

Comprehensive Town Master Plan Kick-Off meeting was held on May 3, 2007; more than 60 people were in attendance

About 40 people attended the May 17 task force meeting. Steve Logan, director of Gwinnett County’s planning division, presented demographic and transportation data collected as part of the Gwinnett County Unified Plan assessment.

The first working group meeting was held June 21.

Working group divided into three smaller groups to brainstorm ideas/needs for specific areas of the City.

Preliminary consensus recommendations shared with working group in November.

Draft of the 2030 Comprehensive Plan/Community Agenda made available for public review March 17.
