Post Date:02/26/2019 2:06 PM

The best and brightest were spotlighted last night at the Southeast Festivals and Events Association’s (SFEA) Kaleidoscope Awards, in Pigeon Forge, TN. The ceremony was held in conjunction with the SFEA Annual Conference. Top festivals and events throughout the southeast were recognized for their outstanding contribution to the events industry, including multiple Suwanee events:

Gold Awards

  • Best Event Within an Event – Gwinnett’s Bicentennial Celebration at Suwanee Fest

  • Best Sponsor – Tiger Tails Animal Hospital at Suwanee Fest

Silver Awards

  • Best New Event – Summer Porch Jam
  • Best Creative Idea – Summer Porch Jam Fan
  • Best Photograph – Suwanee Fest
  • Best Event Program – Suwanee Fest

Bronze Awards

  • Best Promotional Poster – Summer Porch Jam

“The quality of submissions continues to increase each year, making it more difficult for the judges to select the winners,” noted Lisa McCray, executive director of the Southeast Festivals and Events Association.  “Of course, to ‘win gold,’ becomes all the sweeter when there is additional competition, and the recognition a festival receives for winning is priceless.”

The Southeast Festivals & Events Association is a membership-based organization comprised of festival and event planners, venues, and industry service providers. A panel of experts in event planning, marketing and tourism reviewed entries from five states, looking for originality, creativity, media impact, volunteer programs, and the overall impact to the community.

“Our event team spends hours upon hours behind the scenes planning memory-making events for our citizens,” said Amy Doherty, events and outreach manager for the City of Suwanee. “It’s nice to be recognized as being among the best in the Southeast for producing some amazing events that make Suwanee a great place to live and play.”
