What's Going On?

 

Development/construction projects recently underway in the City of Suwanee include:

Brogdon Road

An eight-acre site with office/warehouse buildings is being developed near the railroad tracks.

Opposite Capital View Drive, on an approximately 60-acre site, is a business center that will encompass about 550,000 square feet of light industrial uses. This project will eventually include a new road that connects Brogdon Road to Peachtree Industrial Boulevard at Tench Road.

Buford Highway

At Swiftwater Park Drive, a carpeting warehouse/wholesale/retail facility is under construction on a seven-acre site. The facility will total approximately 70,000 square feet and will be completed in multiple phases.

South of City Hall, a two-story, 30,000 square foot office/retail building is being developed. Because the project is in the Old Town Commercial District, all parking will be located in the rear of the site.

North of Lawrenceville-Suwanee Road, an approximately 20,000 square foot battery sales facility is under development.

Jackson and Calaboose streets

An approximately one-acre site is being developed as five single-family residential parcels.

Lawrenceville-Suwanee Road at Suwanee Avenue

On this 1.5-acre site, a two-story building with offices on the second floor and retail uses on the ground floor is being constructed. In addition, a one-story shopping center, to include restaurants, will front Boston Common Street.

Lawrenceville-Suwanee Road east of Satellite Boulevard

Next to the RaceTrac gas station, on one of the Suwanee Depot outparcels, a bank site is being developed.

Lawrenceville-Suwanee Road west of Satellite Boulevard

A planned mixed-use development is going in adjacent to Taco Mac. This 25-acre development includes 105 single-family detached units, a restaurant site, and shopping center.

Next to Moe’s, an approximately 20,000 square foot shopping center and approximately 20,000 square foot office/warehouse building are under development.

McGinnis Ferry Road at Scales Road

Three separate phases of a single mixed-use project are under development:

  • Adjacent to the existing apartments, on a one-acre site, is a 5,000-square-foot shopping center.
  • On Scales Road heading into Old Town, on an approximately two-acre site, the same developer will build four two-story, 8,000-square-foot office buildings.
  • On a three-acre site on McGinnis Ferry Road, a different developer is building a self-storage facility to be fronted by a shopping center.

Old Peachtree Road

East of Horizon Drive, the property owner is adding an approximately 300,000 addition onto an existing warehouse building.

Peachtree Industrial Boulevard

Paces Property is constructing an 84,000 square foot multi-phase shopping center across from Chattahoochee Point.

At Moore Road, a four-building shopping center is under development. The project includes two 15,000 square foot multi-tenant buildings, a Chick-fil-A restaurant, and another small retail building. The property is approximately 11 acres.

North of Silver Peak Parkway, an approximately 10,000 square foot office/commercial building is being constructed.

South of the BP gas station, on a three-acre site, a 30,000-square-foot office and retail building is being developed. Further south, a smaller office and retail building is under development on a 1.5-acre site.

At Suwanee Dam Road on the same corner as CVS, Jolly Development has begun work on Three Bridges, a mixed-use 60-acre development that will include approximately 75,000 square feet of office space and 75,000 square feet of commercial space.

Satellite Boulevard

North of Lawrenceville-Suwanee Road, a site is being developed for a two- to four-story, approximately 140,000 square foot office/retail building.

Stonecypher Road

Phases two and three of the Stonecypher neighborhood are under construction. This project will include townhouses and single-family homes.

Town Center Avenue and Charleston Market Street

Work has begun on the second mixed-use building at Town Center. Madison Retail is constructing two three-story buildings. The first floors will have retail uses while the top floors will be residential (23 units).
