Development/construction projects recently underway in the
City of Suwanee include:
Capital View Drive (off Brogdon Road)
A cabinet manufacturing business has recently completed construction of an approximately 40,000-square-foot building on an approximately 8.77-acre site. This project includes a road extension of Capital View Drive.
Lawrenceville-Suwanee Road – from Satellite Blvd. to the Interstate
Opus South Corporation has begun work on its 148-acre transformative Terraces at Suwanee Gateway project. At more than 1 million square feet of commercial and office space, the planned mixed-use development is the largest single project in Suwanee’s history.
Construction of a Lowe’s and the first of three multistory office buildings as well as a new roadway are currently underway.
Future phases include a “Main Street”-style retail component, senior housing, two additional office buildings, townhomes, and a full-service hotel. The project is expected to be completed in 3-5 years.
Lawrenceville-Suwanee Road – west of Satellite Boulevard
At Town Center Avenue, construction is underway on a 12,000-square-foot office/retail building and on the new 24,000-square-foot Suwanee City Hall.
McGinnis Ferry Road
At Burnette Road, work has been completed on a 2.5-acre development, including a three-story, 19,000-square-foot office building and 14,000-square-foot retail building.
At Peachtree Industrial, behind the Walgreens and Bank of America, a portion of a 28-acre site is currently under construction for a 36,000-square-foot facility with retail and restaurant uses.
A 75-acre, 170-unit single-family residential neighborhood is under construction near Satellite Boulevard.
Old Peachtree Road
East of Horizon Drive, the property owner is adding an approximately 300,000-square-foot addition onto an existing warehouse building.
At the Horizon Drive intersection, a 7-acre development is underway. The site will include a four-story, 58,000-square-foot office building and a 40,000-square-foot retail center as well as an outparcel.
Peachtree Industrial Boulevard
At Moore Road, construction is complete on the 6,446-square-foot AutoZone. Construction is underway on the 20,016-square-foot retail building next to AutoZone, and on a 3,600-square-foot bank at the corner of Moore Road and Peachtree Industrial Boulevard.
At Suwanee Dam Road on the same corner as CVS, Jolly Development continues work on Three Bridges, a mixed-use, 60-acre development that will include approximately 75,000 square feet of office space and 75,000 square feet of commercial space.
South of McGinnis Ferry Road, a 140,000-square-foot retail/office center is near completion.
Satellite Boulevard
Near Burnette Road, two buildings, with a total of approximately 100,000 square feet in office/warehouse space, are nearing completion on this nearly 12-acre site.
Stonecypher Road
Phase three of the Stonecypher neighborhood is under construction. This project will include townhouses and single-family homes.
Suwanee Dam Road
Near the Tench Road intersection, the City of Suwanee is developing Sims Lake Park. The 62-acre property is considered the jewel of Suwanee’s award-winning open space program. Elements in the park’s initial development include a one-mile multipurpose trail, public restrooms, paved parking, irrigation, picnic areas, and open play fields. The park is expected to open later this summer.
