The City is accepting applications for a FULL-TIME Custodian

Applicant must be at least 18 years of age and have a valid Georgia Driver’s License. Under direct supervision, duties will involve the upkeep and cleaning of parks and city facilities. This includes duties such as cleaning and stocking bathrooms, picking up paper, clean up of facilities, and removing trash from parks, pavilions, and buildings. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Rotating weekly schedule:

  • Week 1: Tues., Wed., & Thurs, & Fri. Hours 3:30 pm – 1:30 am.
  • Week 2: Mon. Hours 3:30 pm – 1:30 am, Tues. Hours 5:30 pm – 11:30 pm.
  • Saturday and Sunday: 6:00 am – noon and 1:00 pm -7 pm.
  • Times need to be flexible depending on City needs.

Education:
H.S. diploma or GED preferred.

Compensation:
Starting at $13.42 hourly - with full benefits

The City is accepting applications for a FULL-TIME Environmental Services Manager

Under limited supervision, this position is responsible for managing the city’s tree infrastructure (maintenance, care, removal, and replacement including those on street rights-of-ways, parks, greenway trail system, and grounds); landscape management services performed by contractors and service providers; landscape installation projects by public works maintenance personnel; street sweeping; and a portion of the city’s litter control program.

We are looking for someone with the following experience(s): Arborist, arboriculture, horticulture, landscape/beautification maintenance, and knowledge of chemicals used to treat trees.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Applicant must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Have a valid Georgia Driver’s License.
  • Three (3) years of experience w/supervision/team lead experience.
  • Associate degree in forestry, landscape management, horticulture, agriculture, turf management or related field.
  • Preferably: Bachelor’s degree and ISA Arborist certification and turfgrass management certification.

Starting at $23.10 hourly - with full benefits

The City is accepting applications for a FULL-TIME Public Works Laborer/Equipment Operator I

This position operates assigned variety of equipment and performs manual labor in support of the operation, construction, repair and maintenance of city buildings, facilities, parks, grounds, streets, fleet, equipment, utilities, stormwater facilities, and water systems.

H.S. diploma or GED equivalent, valid GA Driver's License and 1-2 years experience in maintenance & construction required. CDL, water operator license, further technical or vocational training in HVAC, plumbing, masonry or electrical wiring are desired. Possess or acquire CDL and water operator license within one year.

Compensation:
$17.17 hourly - with full benefits

The Suwanee Police Department is seeking individuals committed to serving and protecting the City of Suwanee and its residents as police officers. As first responders, police officers are vital to public safety and, under regular supervision, perform basic police services in accordance with the mission, goals, and objectives of the City of Suwanee Police Department and in compliance with governing federal, state, and local laws.

The City of Suwanee provides police service 24 hours per day, seven days per week. Shift work, including nights, weekends and holidays, is required.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree preferred.
  • Valid Georgia driver's license.
  • U.S. citizen.
  • At least 21 years of age.
  • Meet P.O.S.T. requirements for Peace Officer certification and/or academy admittance pursuant to Georgia law; successful completion of Police Academy.

Successful completion of the pre-employment process, which includes oral interview, background check, criminal records and traffic history check, medical and drug screening, psychological evaluation, and polygraph evaluation

Compensation:
Starting at $19.92 hourly ($41,425.70 annualized), negotiable with education and experience considered.

  • All uniforms and equipment furnished by the City.
  • Eligible for Defined Benefit Plan on first day.
  • Eligible for benefits after 30 day waiting period to include: medical/dental/vision, vacation/sick leave.
  • Eligible to participate in POAB.
  • After successful completion of FTO (Field Training Officer Program) receive a take home car (must live within 30 miles of City limits).
  • After successful completion of 12-month probation period eligible for tuition reimbursement.
