The City is accepting applications for a PART-TIME Deputy Court Clerk

This part-time position provides support for the City’s municipal court. Work involves entering citations into a database, coordinating court dockets, assisting Judge with proceedings, processing court cases & maintaining records in accordance with laws. Previous court administration or government experience preferred. Strong customer service & computer skills required. Bilingual a plus.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Two (2) years customer service experience.
  • Experience with Windows based software.
  • GCIC certification preferred.
  • Valid State of Georgia Driver’s License.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience.

Compensation:
$17.17 hourly - NO benefits (approximately 24 hours per week)

The City is accepting applications for a PART-TIME Bailiff

This part-time position is responsible for maintaining order and providing assistance for court operations. The Bailiff will maintain a security presence in the courtroom; prepare the courtroom for scheduled hearings; and enforce courtroom rules of behavior. The Bailiff will call the court to order, provide assistance to the Judge; and act as a liaison with the Clerk of Court for the coordination of the municipal court security. The Bailiff will work alongside the Police Officer assigned to the court.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Skilled in the enforcement of security procedures.
  • Valid State of Georgia driver's license.

Experience:

  • One or more years of progressively responsible related experience.
  • Any combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • No P.O.S.T certification required.

Compensation:
$75 per session; approximately eight sessions a month; this is a pool position.

The City is accepting applications for a PART-TIME Special Projects Coordinator

This part-time position is a skilled clerical position responsible for providing administrative support to Administrative Services. This position will serve as backup for positions within City Hall for the City. Examples of duties include but are not limited to: Files and retrieves materials and data from department computerized and manual filing systems; assist with recruitment and employee onboarding; conducts and responds to wage and salary, benefit, working conditions, and related surveys; performs a variety of administrative and support duties. Strong customer service and computer skills is a must.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • 2-3 years clerical experience.
  • HR administration background a plus.

Compensation:
Starting at $18.96 hourly - NO benefits

The City is accepting applications for a FULL-TIME Custodian

Applicant must be at least 18 years of age and have a valid Georgia Driver’s License. Under direct supervision, duties will involve the upkeep and cleaning of parks and city facilities. This includes duties such as cleaning and stocking bathrooms, picking up paper, clean up of facilities, and removing trash from parks, pavilions, and buildings. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Rotating weekly schedule:

  • Week 1: Tues., Wed., & Thurs, & Fri. Hours 3:30 pm – 1:30 am.
  • Week 2: Mon. Hours 3:30 pm – 1:30 am, Tues. Hours 5:30 pm – 11:30 pm.
  • Saturday and Sunday: 6:00 am – noon and 1:00 pm -7 pm.
  • Times need to be flexible depending on City needs.

Education:
H.S. diploma or GED preferred.

Starting at $13.42 hourly - with full benefits

The City is accepting applications for a PART-TIME Special Event Staff

Event staff will work special events, which will include nights and weekends. Duties will involve the set up and take down for events sponsored by the City of Suwanee. Work will also include the clean up of facilities, removing trash from parks and pavilions, and stocking restrooms. This is a great part-time job for a college student or someone seeking periodic weekend work.

The City is accepting applications for a FULL-TIME Public Works Laborer/Equipment Operator I

This position operates assigned variety of equipment and performs manual labor in support of the operation, construction, repair and maintenance of city buildings, facilities, parks, grounds, streets, fleet, equipment, utilities, stormwater facilities, and water systems.

H.S. diploma or GED equivalent, valid GA Driver’s License and 1-2 years experience in maintenance & construction required. CDL, water operator license, further technical or vocational training in HVAC, plumbing, masonry or electrical wiring are desired. Possess or acquire CDL and water operator license within one year

Compensation:
Starting at $17.17 hourly - with full benefits

The Suwanee Police Department is seeking individuals committed to serving and protecting the City of Suwanee and its residents as police officers. As first responders, police officers are vital to public safety and, under regular supervision, perform basic police services in accordance with the mission, goals, and objectives of the City of Suwanee Police Department and in compliance with governing federal, state, and local laws.

The City of Suwanee provides police service 24 hours per day, seven days per week. Shift work, including nights, weekends and holidays, is required.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree preferred.
  • Valid Georgia driver's license.
  • U.S. citizen.
  • At least 21 years of age.
  • Meet P.O.S.T. requirements for Peace Officer certification and/or academy admittance pursuant to Georgia law; successful completion of Police Academy.

Successful completion of the pre-employment process, which includes oral interview, background check, criminal records and traffic history check, medical and drug screening, psychological evaluation, and polygraph evaluation

Compensation:
Starting at $19.92 hourly ($41,425.70 annualized), negotiable with education and experience considered.

  • All uniforms and equipment furnished by the City.
  • Eligible for Defined Benefit Plan on first day.
  • Eligible for benefits after 30 day waiting period to include: medical/dental/vision, vacation/sick leave.
  • Eligible to participate in POAB.
  • After successful completion of FTO (Field Training Officer Program) receive a take home car (must live within 30 miles of City limits).
  • After successful completion of 12-month probation period eligible for tuition reimbursement.
