Get ready, Suwanee! Now part of the USA CRITS circuit, this professional cycling event brings world-class athletes and fans together for one of Suwanee’s most dynamic community experiences. It’s fast, it’s fun, and it’s rolling straight into Town Center on Main.
What’s a “Crit”? (Let’s Shift Gears…)
A criterium—often called a “crit”—is one of the most exciting forms of bicycle racing.
As a spectator, you’re never far from the action. Riders complete multiple short laps, passing by the same spot again and again. Think: the NASCAR of bike racing… but with way tighter turns and zero engines.
Expect high speeds, tight packs, and impressive cornering. Stand close to the course and feel the rush as cyclists fly by or take it up a level and watch from the pedestrian bridge for a bird’s-eye view.
The Vibe (More Than Just a Race)
This isn’t just about the finish line; it’s a full community spin.
You’ll find music, food vendors, cheering crowds, and a lively, tailgate-style atmosphere throughout the day. Whether you’re a cycling enthusiast or just along for the ride, there’s something for everyone.

From 8–11 PM, Hot Candy Band—a high-energy six-piece Atlanta-based cover band—takes the stage with an upbeat mix of rock, pop, country, and dance hits, featuring two powerhouse female vocalists and a crowd-pleasing setlist spanning everything from 60s and 70s classics to 90s favorites and today’s hits. Enjoy 30+ craft beers and cocktails on tap, along with wine and mocktails, while grabbing a bite from Fire & Grace Pizza Kitchen and the Bo Knows BBQ food truck—because the only thing better than a great race is a great afterparty to match.
Spectator Tips (Best Seats on Two Wheels)
Want to make the most of race day? Here’s how to stay ahead of the pack:
- Catch the action up close: Find a spot along a corner to watch cyclists lean in and power through turns—it’s where the skill really shines.
- Look for straightaways: Perfect for seeing just how fast these riders can fly when they open it up.
- Arrive early: Stake out your viewing spot before the crowds roll in, especially for the pro races.
- Bring your crew: This is a social ride—set up near friends, grab food, and enjoy the energy between laps.
- Stay aware: Riders pass frequently and quickly, so keep little ones close and always stay off the course.
- Take it to the next level: Don’t miss Suwanee’s elevated pedestrian bridge—a truly unique vantage point that lets you watch the race from above. It’s one of the only spots where you can see multiple sections of the course at once, making it perfect for catching every lap as it unfolds below. It’s a whole new way to experience the speed, strategy, and rhythm of a crit.
