Empowering Residents Through the Suwanee Citizens Police Academy

The Suwanee Police Department is excited to announce that applications are now being accepted for the spring session of the Suwanee Citizens Police Academy! This seven-week program offers participants a behind-the-scenes look at law enforcement operations, combining classroom instruction with hands-on activities like crime scene investigations, traffic stops, building searches, crime prevention strategies, and narcotics identification.

The Spring 2025 academy will take place on Monday evenings from 6:30 – 9 PM, March 3 through April 21. Please note that there will be no class on April 7 due to Gwinnett County Spring Break.

Police5“The Citizens Police Academy provides an invaluable opportunity for residents to understand the challenges of modern policing while strengthening the relationship between the department and the community,” said Suwanee Police Chief Cass Mooney.

This free program is open to the public, though space is limited. Priority will be given to Suwanee residents. All applicants are required to undergo a criminal and driver history background check.
