Public Information Open House

Post Date:05/23/2025

In 2021 as part of the Suwanee Pedestrian and Bicycle Loop and Sidewalk Feasibility Studies, the city gathered community input with online surveys, pop-up events in White Street Park and Martin Farm Park along the Suwanee Creek Greenway, and an open house at City Hall to get the community’s feedback on potential routes for a continuous pedestrian and bicycle loop.  This long-range project, now known as the Suwanee Loop, will connect the city’s neighborhoods to Suwanee’s downtown, parks, and trails as well as other regional trails.

The city applied for and was granted federal funds for 80% of the design and engineering costs for multiple segments of the Suwanee Loop including a pedestrian bridge over Peachtree Industrial Boulevard. These segments include multi-use paths along Eva Kennedy Road, Stonecypher Road, Main Street, Russell Street, and White Street. The engineering is currently  underway and preliminary concepts for the trail and the bridge will be shared at a public information open house on June 10th. Construction is expected to begin by 2030.

On Tuesday, June 10th, between 4pm – 7pm, the city will host a public information open house at Suwanee City Hall to share information about the Suwanee Loop Trail and other key projects in the city including the Roundabout Master Plan, the renovation of Main Street Park, the Martin Farm Bridge reconstruction, and Suwanee Creek Greenway realignment. Residents are invited to drop in anytime during the event to view plans, ask questions, and speak with staff. No formal presentations will be given.
