Celebrating Art, Generosity, and Community: Suwanee Adds Two New Installations to Town Center on Main

Post Date:10/30/2025

This past Saturday, October 25th, the City of Suwanee unveiled two new art installations in Town Center on Main, marking another milestone in the city’s initiative to make art an integral part of everyday life. The Art for All donors were invited to an intimate morning event to celebrate these new additions. The gathering honored not only the art installations themselves but also the Art for All Campaign's lasting impact of creativity and philanthropy in shaping Suwanee’s shared spaces.

The first installation, Bookshelf by artist Pat Perry, is an immersive mural that brings the reading grotto outside the Gwinnett County Library’s Suwanee branch to life. The mural is a still life of everyday objects referencing famous books or literary ‘Easter eggs’, inviting visitors to look closer and discover the familiar stories brought to life on the wall.

The second addition, the Art for All Donor Wall, stands proudly on the opposite end of the pedestrian bridge. This installation recognizes the individuals and organizations whose generosity have made Suwanee’s growing public art collection possible, specifically the pieces that will call Town Center on Main & DeLay Nature Park home.

The Donor Wall serves as a visible symbol of gratitude and civic pride. It acknowledges those who invest in creativity and culture, inspires others to do the same, and preserves the history of how public art has helped define Suwanee’s identity. Together, these values make the wall a living testament to the city’s belief that art truly belongs to everyone.

During the celebration, the City also recognized Dr. Neelagaru for his exceptional commitment to service and philanthropy. In addition to sponsoring the Reading Grotto where the Bookshelf mural is found, Dr. Neelagaru has provided free medical care during the pandemic, awarded scholarships to students across Georgia, supported numerous civic initiatives including Suwanee’s Art for All campaign, and is a recipient of the Ellis Island Medal of Honor. His generosity continues to help bring meaningful public art experiences to the community.

The City of Suwanee extends heartfelt appreciation to the Art for All donors, members of the Public Art Commission, and the artists whose creativity continues to enrich the city’s landscape and inspire all who visit. Suwanee's public art program, including SculpTour and art commissions, is funded largely through corporate and private donations.
