Suwanee's annual concert kick-off to the Memorial Weekend will feature bluegrass and classical performances, a musical salute to the troops, and the Silver Wings parachute team "dropping in" for a visit.

The Red, White, Bluegrass & Bach concert will kick off the Memorial Day weekend on Friday, May 26, at Town Center Park. All eyes will be to the sky at 7:00 p.m. as the Fort Benning Silver Wings parachute into Town Center (weather permitting).

The National Anthem will be performed at 7:15 p.m., followed by a classical performance by the Main Street Symphony – an adult amateur orchestra associated with Huthmakers Violins. This string orchestra is open to amateur string players who love music and love making music. There is no audition process – musicians are simply encouraged to attend rehearsals and join the fun.

At 8:30 p.m., bluegrass band Volume Five will take the stage. While Volume Five is a traditional band, their soulful singing, dead-on harmonies, and precision picking set them apart from other bands of this style. Playing with such well known acts as Marty Raybon and Full Circle, The Roys, Bradley Walker, Mountain Heart, and many others has helped each member of Volume Five hone his craft to perfection, while at the same time given each member the stage experience needed to entertain just about any crowd.
