SNAP Suwanee Photo Contest

The City of Suwanee hosts an annual photography contest called SNAP Suwanee. Amateur and professional photographers are encouraged to share photos they have snapped of the Suwanee community.

We encourage images that depict the personality, vitality, and livability of our city from portraits to lifestyle and landscapes. Submissions will be judged in consideration of five categories.

The Great Outdoors - From the quiet trails of Suwanee Creek Greenway to the lively energy around Town Center Park, Suwanee parks are brimming with scenic views. Capture the spirit of Suwanee’s outdoor spaces and share those moments with us.
Faces of Suwanee - Celebrate the heart of Suwanee, its people! From a candid laugh with a friend to a thoughtful portrait of someone who inspires you, show us the faces that make this community so exceptional.
For the Love of Art! - Suwanee is known for having a creative edge that is seen in our permanent art collection as well as temporary pieces through programs like SculpTour. Submit a photo that shows your perspective of the art that has given the city some of its unique personality.
Where Life is Eventful - Life in Suwanee is always eventful! From the upbeat fun of Suwanee Fest to the intimate charm of Summer Porch Jam, submit your favorite photo of any Suwanee event that reminds you of what made that moment unforgettable.
Locally Loved in Suwanee – This one’s for all the photos in-between (IYKYK). Locally Loved in Suwanee highlights photos that defy easy categories but spark instant recognition for those who know and love the city.

RULES:

Each photographer may submit up to five photographs.
The deadline for submissions is February 28, 2025.
Entries must be suitable for display on a public website and within a public building.
Photographs should be composed of subjects and locations within Suwanee city limits.
Ideally the photo should have been taken within the past two years.
Photographs should be high resolution, for instance, 300 dpi and/or at least 3 MB.
All entered photographs may be used as content, with a photo credit, on the City’s website, newsletter, social media, or in other non-commercial ways to promote Suwanee.
Applicants warrant that the entry submission is the original work of the artist and, as such, the artist is the sole and exclusive owner and rights holder of the submitted work and that the party submitting has the right to submit the work for exhibition and grant all required licenses.
Snap Suwanee is open to professional and amateur photographers.

WINNERS:

Judges will identify a first-place winner and runner-up in each category.
Winning photographs will be exhibited, beginning in April, for an approximate one-year period at City Hall.
All winners will receive recognition at a City Council meeting and be featured on the City’s social media channels.
The winning photos from the previous competition are currently on display on the first-floor lobby of City Hall and may be viewed from 8 am-5 pm weekdays.
