Park Ambassadors are volunteers that directly support the City of Suwanee’s efforts in ensuring that its parks are clean, safe, and well-maintained by offering their time, attention, knowledge, eyes and ears.
The city operates and maintains 182 acres of parks in addition to trails. While the city does its best to patrol and maintain all 8 parks, Park Ambassadors can help supplement city services by walking the parks and trails to spot issues that might otherwise get missed or overlooked. Does that mean Park Ambassadors have to cut grass? Of course not, that is the city’s job!
Ambassadors serve as an additional set of “eyes and ears” for the city, communicating matters of concern or opportunities for improvement to the appropriate staff members. They will undertake an assortment of important functions that are aimed to enhance the experience of Suwanee’s parks and trails. These functions will range from engaging with people with questions such as where the library is or where to find the best parking, to reporting when trash cans are full on a busy Sunday afternoon, to simply being present and visible to make visitors feel comfortable.
The Park Ambassador program fosters a sense of community among volunteers who influence and improve the city, connecting them with others who love the outdoors and staying active. They have the chance to be part of an award-winning organization that cares about making Suwanee a welcoming, safe, and attractive place to live, work, and visit.
As a Park Ambassador, you'll give back to the community, learn more about the city, and make some fun memories along the way!
