Pavilion Rental - Pavilions at several of Suwanee's parks may be reserved for private gatherings, such as reunions, birthday parties, and weddings.

Through the City of Suwanee's bond-funded, award-winning open space initiative (approved by voters in 2001), five new parks were created and the Suwanee Creek Greenway extended. Suwanee is widely recognized throughout the Atlanta region for its leadership in preserving open space and establishing high-quality parks and passive recreation opportunities. Over the past few years, the City's focus has been on enhancing existing parks rather than adding new ones.

The Gwinnett County-managed George Pierce Park is located within the City of Suwanee and offers many active recreational opportunities and leagues. Recognized in 2008 as the top park agency in the nation by the National Recreation and Park Association and the American Academy for Park and Recreation Administration, the Gwinnett County park system includes nearly 50 facilities and more than 170 multipurpose sports fields.

Each of the City's parks has its own distinct personality and unique uses. City of Suwanee parks are generally open from sunup to sundown. Because of its open location, Town Center Park typically remains active well into the evening. Please click here to view the City of Suwanee's Park Use Policy.

Located at the intersection of Buford Highway and Lawrenceville-Suwanee Road, the 10-acre Town Center Park serves as our "front yard" and the community's primary gathering place for special events. Come take a stroll or a jog, bring a friend or your dog, fly a kite or ride your bike, all in the midst of a vibrant mixed-use retail/residential setting.
The amphitheater stage provides a backdrop for concerts and other performances that draw people from throughout the region. Directions.

Tents and additional tables and chairs have been temporarily added to Town Center Park in order to provide outdoor spaces for people to work and dine during the pandemic. These spaces are for leisure use only and are not reservable.

Town Center Park Rules

Respect others who are using the park, as well as the the equipment and facilities.
No ball games or organized ball play.
Please do not pick flowers or damage plants.
Place all trash in appropriate containers.
Glass containers are not permitted.
No skateboards, motorized vehicles, or drones.
No amplified sound except by permit.
All pets must be on a leash.
Owners are required to clean up after their pets. (Dispensers with disposable bags are located throughout the park.)
No fires or camping in the park.
You may not bring your own alcohol into the park. Alcohol may be purchased from Town Center merchants on event days.

Big Splash Interactive Fountain

The fountain in Town Center Park will return on July 1, 2021.

One of Gwinnett's largest interactive fountains, Suwanee's Big Splash features 43 jets and uses up to 1,400 gallons of water per minute. (The water is recycled.) The fountain is generally open 9:30 am-9:30 pm seven days a week, weather permitting, when "in season" (from April 1-October 31). Water quality is checked throughout the day.

While the City encourages splashing, delighted squeals, and fun in the fountain, several rules are necessary to ensure the safety of splashers as well as the integrity of the fountain system. In addition, to ensure safety and fun for all, daycares, camps, and other organized groups of more than ten are required to make reservations in order to use the fountain.

Occasionally the fountain must be closed for maintenance. When possible, notice will be posted to the City of Suwanee website.

Big Splash Rules

No food, gum, beverages, or glass containers may be brought into the fountain area.
No pets are allowed.
No water balloons, water guns, or other toys permitted.
Please keep rocks, stones, and other small objects outside the fountain area.
No skates, skateboards, scooters, bicycles, or drones.
Toddlers must wear swim diapers.
Footwear is strongly recommended.
Children must be supervised by an accompanying adult; never leave children unattended.
No running or rough-housing.
No jumping from walls.
Daycares and other groups must make reservations to use the Big Splash interactive fountain.

The Big Splash interactive fountain is designed for recreational purposes; use at your own risk. The City of Suwanee is not responsible for any injury resulting from use of the fountain and does not assume responsibility for supervision.

Located at 4600 Suwanee Dam Road, Sims Lake Park is one of Suwanee's most popular parks not only because of its proximity to several neighborhoods, but also because of its many amenities and idyllic environment. The 62-acre park includes a seven-acre lake and 1.2-mile looping trail. Directions.

It's time to run... walk... pedal... stroll... and roll! The Suwanee Creek Greenway is a hard-surface, multipurpose trail that meanders through four miles of wooded areas, wetlands, and wildlife habitat. The greenway connects nearly 400 acres of parkland as well as residential and commercial areas.

Walkers, joggers, bikers, rollerbladers, and others can access the trail at a variety of locations. The trailhead is located at Suwanee Creek Park, 1170 Buford Highway. Other access points are:

Suwanee Creek Park offers a recreation area ideal for family picnics and reunions; it's also home to Suwanee's 18-hole disc golf course and the trailhead for the Suwanee Creek Greenway. Located at 1170 Buford Highway, near the City's southern limit, the 85-acre park has been left substantially in its natural condition and, in addition to providing access to the Greenway, has additional hard- and soft-surface trails. Approximately 100 parking spaces are available at Suwanee Creek Park. Directions.

Suwanee Creek Disc Golf Course

Designed by Professional Disc Golf Association Hall of Fame member John David, Suwanee's disc golf course has been described as "a short, technical course that serves as a great equalizer among players." Several holes have been designed to be more challenging, and two require throwing over water hazards. The majority of the course is in wooded, shaded areas, and all the holes have been placed outside wet conditions. It plays well for beginner to moderate level players and even some more advanced players will find holes to be challenging. No reservations are necessary to play.

Suwanee Creek Park Orienteering Course

Designed and created as part of an Eagle Scout project, the orienteering course at Suwanee Creek Park is a one-mile trek visiting 19 points as shown on the map. At each point hikers, turn an angle and travel a set distance to find the next orienteering marker set in the park. Starting at point 1, using a compass, hikers turn to the azimuth listed on the attached map until they have discovered all 19 markers.

The super playground that mommies and daddies (and 1,200 other volunteers) built over five days in June 2004 is located at 425 Main Street. PlayTown Suwanee features a magical bus, castle, log cabin, boat, elephant, rocket, climbing wall, bridges, slides, and swing sets. Directions.

Harvest Farm

Home to Harvest Farm, Georgia's largest organic community garden, White Street Park, located at 752 White Street, also features a stunning butterfly garden, 2,500-gallon cistern, and many other amenities. Directions.

The Orchard at
White Street Park

The first public orchard in the Southeast, the Orchard at White Street Park also includes lawn areas for relaxation and play, an entryway pavilion, winding pathways, and natural construction children's play features throughout the one acre site.

This pocket park next door to the police station at 373 Buford Highway offers a great place to watch trains go by. Directions.

In the heart of historic Old Town Suwanee, this park is located at 687 Main Street, just across the street from Suwanee's red caboose. Directions.

At Martin Farm Road and Suwanee Creek, this park provides parking for and access to the Suwanee Creek Greenway and includes a small interpretive trail. Public restrooms and a water fountain are also available. Directions.

A combination of concrete and boardwalk, the heavily wooded Brushy Creek Trail follows the Brushy Creek corridor. The path is a one-mile multi-use trail that will connect Suwanee Dam Road at Delay Road to Stonecypher Road near Main Street. The shade, combined with shorter distance, makes the Brushy Creek Greenway ideal for treks with younger children – particularly since it connects to PlayTown Suwanee and the library. Access and parking for the greenway is currently off of Main Street and PlayTown Suwanee.
