Home MenuMain Street Park
After almost 30 years, Main Street Park is ready for a refresh. Starting in early January, the city plans to update the existing landscaping, resurface and update the basketball court, replace the wooden pavilion with a steel framed pavilion, replace the circular concrete and brick paver plaza with a grass lawn, and add some more sidewalks, seating, and parking. The city hired contractor to CGS to complete the work which is set to begin on or around January 5, 2026 and take approximately 4 to 5 months to complete (depending upon weather). The entire park will be closed to the public when construction starts. However, the contractor believes that the portion of the park with the basketball court is likely to be finished sooner than the rest of the park. The plan is to have the park looking like new in late spring, ready to host pick up basketball games and people who want a more low key downtown park experience.
Before the completion of Town Center Park and Town Center on Main, Main Street Park anchored by the Burnette-Rogers pavilion was the social center of Suwanee. It hosted all the major city events such as Suwanee Day (back when it was just a Day and not a Fest), the Caboose Lighting, and movies in the park.
